HIV

HIV

Today when we arrived at the hospital, a young doctor approached us and very gravely told us that a 3 year old girl that we were to operate on had tested positive. Her 4 year old sister had not. Did we want to operate on the 3 year old? We said we would. They wanted a second test to confirm her status which did return positive. Her parents will now be tested. Driving to the hospital yesterday I had noticed a large yellow (government color) building labeled The Center for HIV/AIDS Prevention. There are also large posters along the roadside with HID/AIDS messages. It is good to see public health education and awareness.
